Sydney Festival's Best Bets

Beck's Festival Bar presents a stellar line-up of summer music.

Beck's Bar in Hyde Park Barracks has a kick-ass line-up of music heading our way for summer.

They're here! Canadians Holy Fuck (above) will be playing their first ever performance in Australia since the release of their much lauded album Latin. Be part of their on-stage energy and chaotic experimental rock sounds.

In support will be Melbourne's My Disco, Monk Fly and Lexy Savvides (FBi Radio).

Octave One have been playing all over the world for 20 years - and now they're finally coming to Australia! These Detroit techno innovators are mainly known for their house music, but produce plenty of techno tracks as well - they've released a whopping 100 records since 1990. Their show is bound to keep you dancing until late with the Mad Racket DJs opening and closing the night.

New wave English band Wire are set to kick off one of their renowned live performances. Formed in the 1970s, they've had a massive influence on the way rock music has developed today, with their angular sound being echoed by bands such as Franz Ferdinand and Bloc Party.

LA foursome HEALTH will follow to blend together electronica, rock and dance, with Popfrenzy DJs finishing the night.

Aloe Blacc is bringing soul back, and will be helped along by Grand Scheme. You'll also see Benji B, Wajeed and Africa Hitech (Tickets are currently sold out, but if you're as desperate as me, I'm sure you'll find a way - try the Tix for Next to Nix booth in Martin Place).
