Thierry Mugler Shows Some Bones
Go Gaga over Thierry Mugler's new menswear line.
Meet Rick Genest, the new face of Thierry Mugler's Fall Winter 2011/2012 menswear campaign. But considering he's put considerable time, money and effort into resembling a skeleton, new face' as a description seems to fall short of the mark. We could call him 'The New Skeleton', perhaps? Or maybe 'The New Zombie'?
Better known as Rico, the unique Canadian model was a must-have for Nicola Formichetti, who is using his new position as Creative Director for the Mugler fashion house to propel the brand towards bigger and better things. It was love-at-first-Facebook-stalk for the French designer, and since then Rico has become Nicola's muse, providing gigantic doses of newfound inspiration while spurring the hesitant celebration of body art in fashion.
Formichetti made his debut as creative director on the 19th of January, at the Paris Men's Fashion Week. The standout 8 were dark, brooding colours paired with minimalist designs crafted by Mugler designer Romain Kremer.

But there's more! An exclusively web-only video created by Formichetti was released to accompany the release of the new menswear line, doing much to prove that the designer doesn't restrict his collaborations to interesting-looking models. Directed by fashion photographer Mariano Vivanco, the fashion film 8 an original, never before heard track by none other than Lady Gaga, who just so happens to employ Formichetti as her personal stylist.
