Topshop x Google x London Fashion Week FW13
The future is now.
Expect to see Topshop all up in your internet soon. Last September the high street retailer collaborated with Facebook in broadcasting their London Fashion Week show (it ended up being the most viewed online fashion show ever), and now they're partnering with Google+ on their presentation this coming Sunday. This means you'll have unprecedented access to every aspect of the FW13 show from the comfort of your own home. If you're thinking comfy pants and snacks then we're totally on the same wavelength here.
'The Future of the Fashion Show' will harness all of Google's platforms to create the ultimate fashion-meets-internet experience. The 'road to the runway' video diaries hosted on Google+ will follow Cara Delevigne, Jourdann Dunn, Rosie Tapner and Ashleigh Good from the first fitting right down to walking the runway. That's right — in a fashion first, models will be fitted with HD micro-cameras so you'll see it all from their perspective in real-time. You'll also be able to see how it goes down from the role of the buyer in the audience, the make-up artist backstage, the designer fitting the final look or the A-list guest arriving on the red carpet. The Topshop TV channel on YouTube will additionally act as a live feed of all the action as it unfolds.
The Topshop/Google+ takeover doesn't end there — a 'be the buyer app' will allow you to create and share mood boards based on pieces seen on the runway, you'll be able to access the showspace and see inside the Tate using Google maps, and users who have registered on Topshop.com will be sent a Google mail address updating them on everything LFW/Topshop-related.
