On the densely wet evening of the 14th of July, Oyster and Yimmy Yayo peered down and through the clouds from the 91st floor of the Shanghai Park Hyatt. Lindsey Wixson, Kasia Struss, Anais Pouliot, Hailey Clauson et al. have finished walking and are now scoping the dance floor. It's Bastille Day in the French Concession below, but here an entirely different party has begun.
The Miu Miu Fall Winter 2011 Shanghai presentation was the biggest show staged by the brand outside of Paris – its vantage point above the rain clouds an apt analogy of the contrasting economic climates of Europe and China. Sprawled across five floors, the celebration flowed between levels, picking up revellers as it passed and dropping them into a myriad of different scenarios, jazz club, burlesque show, moonshine bar, live band venue and nightclub. We rode the wave of sights, sounds and cocktails until it released us into the Shanghai night – primed to find out if the French still had something to offer?
A selection of Oyster's favourite looks from the presentation and some of the highlights of the roaring-40s themed afterparty.
Oyster's edit of the Miu Miu presentation, chopped and screwed by Mike Piscitelli and Stacia Hadiutomo.
