David Bowie did androgyny before androgyny was cool with his Ziggy Stardust and Thin White Duke alter-egos. Now, decades later, the musician/style icon gender bends again with his new 'Stars (Are Out Tonight)' video.
She has dressed up as Ziggy for i-D magazine, and now Bowie's female doppelgänger Tilda Swinton stars alongside him. Together the two take on the role of conservative suburban husband and wife. Meanwhile, transgender supermodel Andrej Pejic and Saskia de Brauw (who fronted Saint Laurent's menswear campaign) swap sexes and play a sinister, alienesque celebrity couple. Norwegian model Iselin Steiro is cast as a younger David Bowie during the flashback scenes.
The video acts as a very unsettling comment on the fame machine. Watch it below!
