Watch: 'Cochon Ville' by Sébastien Tellier
A cult meets a disco meets an orgy meets a macaw.
Our favourite hirsute Parisian and ex-Eurovision contestant Sébastien Tellier, has just released a video for his single ‘Cochon Ville’ from his latest album My God Is Blue. If you try watching it at work, you just might get fired. Depending on where you work, it could very well be worth it, ‘cause as far as salacious videos go, this one is off the hook. Things start out pretty normal… by Sébastien Tellier standards. He’s a slightly devious-looking, blue robe-wearing performer, who’s band is made up of hooded figures, performing at a disco orgy. Acceptable.
But things get creepier as the sexing gets more wild. People start using firecrackers and jugs of milk in unorthodox ways, as it becomes clearer that Sébastien is actually a cult leader type dude, who really likes what he sees. He could even be orchestrating the whole violent scene himself, à la when Mickey Mouse plays a wizard in Fantasia and controls shit.
The video is directed by Alexandre Courtes, who recently shot Justice's video for ‘On'n'On’, and also features an appearance by Glen Goetze of Modular. Look out for the macaw flying out from under Sébastien’s robe, along with a sea of gold glitter. In slow motion.
