Watch: Inside Courtney Love's Closet

Everyone's favourite hot mess opens up her wardrobe.

Earlier this week we got to go on a tour of Courtney Love's West Village townhouse, and now, courtesy of Stylelist, we get to go on a tour of her closet. As you might expect, the queen of grunge / everyone's favourite hot mess has amassed an impressive collection of clothes over the years. Love apparently customizes her vintage dresses, which explains all the antique lace and Edwardiana. As one of the forerunners of the 'kinderwhore' movement, she's also got a staple of baby doll slips. And, for someone who was told by Karl Lagerfield that she would "never get laid in a tutu", there's a whole lot of tulle. Her glove collection is worth a mention, too  "I'm big on a glove," Love says, as she runs us through a basket of pumpkin, pewter and chocolate finds.

Then there's the designer stuff. Her shoe collection includes a pair of purple pumps personally sent to her by Marc Jacobs, 90's Prada and the highly-coveted Christian Louboutin 'Maralena' stilettos  the $2,445 shoe that was voted 2010's 'Sexiest Shoe of the Year' by Saks Fifth Avenue. There's threads by Erdem, Oscar de la Renta and Vivienne Westwood. But her most worn item of the past few years is, surprisingly, a classic Chloe blouse.

But the best thing about the video is the Love-ly lady herself. She's true to form on camera. Cigarette flailing in hand, she makes countless candid (and quotable) quips.

On piano shawls:

"What the hell do you do with piano shawls? How do you make a piano shawl into a dress? This one of my answers."

On packing for holidays:

"And yes, for the Hamptons, an Herve Leger bandage dress, dammit!"

On a pair of purple pumps that Marc Jacobs sent her from his controversial Perry Ellis grunge collection:

"This is what got Marc Jacobs fired, and he sent them to me in Seattle. I burnt the whole collection because I was so terrified."

On where she keeps her oldest vintage:

"I don't have it here. I store it because people will steal it. If I find something and it was Kurt [Cobain's], it's gone."

On Vivienne Westwood:

"I'm really big on Westwood, even though my boobs have popped out twice now."

If that's not a heavy enough dose of Courtney for you, she's still got her online entrepreneurial efforts. She's moved her Ebay store, Courtney Love Couture, over to Etsy, which is awesome because you can now peruse her list of 'favourites'. Then there's her personal style blog  What Courtney Wore Today, which chronicles her day-to-day sartorial choices.
