Watch: Karl Lagerfeld Explain Chanel's Hula Hoop Bag

We think Karl Lagerfeld should always be on camera. Give the man a TV show already! Preferably some sort of Inside the Actors Studio-type program but where he just interviews himself every episode. In this video, he talks about Chanel's SS12/13 collection and, namely, that giant hula hoop bag which he explains is for the beach, duh. "You need space for the beach towel. Then you can put it into the sand and hang things on it." So it's basically like a magic bag from the future that turns into a towel rack.

In the video he also shares his philosophy on creative energy: "Energy should alays be new. There is no old energy. You cannot stock energy. You can for electricity, but not for creativity." Now I'm thinking about a Good Will Hunting-type movie where Karl stars as the brilliant mentor to a class of fashion school students.

He goes on to describe the collection as clean, light, airy, fresh. "It's all about volume — but airy volume," he says. "This is something that has to look easy, approaching and wearable in today's life without being boring." Trust Karl not to do anything boring.
