Chanel's new beauty video is for anyone who has ever dreamt of encrusting their own face with jewels, which, let's admit it, is all of us at one point or another in our lives (24/7 if you are me). The 1 minute and 39 seconds of pure magic were imagined by Peter Phillips, the Creative Director of Chanel Make-Up, to showcase Chanel's reinvented Rouge Allure lipstick line.
'Mirror, Mirror' is inspired by Chanel's Paris-Bombay runway show held last December, as well as some of Peter's editorial work. "We did some amazing pictures, but I always felt a bit frustrated that we never captured this makeup in movement. I loved the sparkling, hypnotizing effect, which, unfortunately, you partially loose in a still image," Peter said, adding, "The concept complimented the shades and the hypnotizing, psychedelic aspect fitted well with the Indian theme."
It took four hours to individually apply the pieces of mirrors and crystals to model Inguna Butane's face. Watch and weep:
