Watch: 'We Found Love' by Rihanna Ft. Calvin Harris
Rihanna film clip or Skins episode?
Is this a Rihanna film clip or an episode of Skins? We really don't know. There's British council flats, excessive drug use, crying whilst smoking, shoplifting, sex, 360 degree camera angles and even a rave in a field so all answers point to yes. The video begins with the depressing, deadpan voice-over of - weirdly enough - Agyness Deyn, whose narration establishes that we're about to see a destructive hedonistic relationship unfold and ultimately crumble.
We watch Rihanna and her boyfriend (played by real-life boyfriend Dudley O'Shaughnessy) go through drug-fueled highs, making out in a variety of different locations and even pushing each other around in supermarket trolleys, which is what all happy couples do according to music videos. Then it all goes to shit. Rihanna overdoses, Dudley writes "MINE" on her ass, she cries in a bath, he hits her. It's all very sad - and easy to speculate that it reflects on her previous abusive relationship with Chris Brown. With this in mind, it feels kind of wrong to find this song catchy especially considering how heavy the clip is.
KIDS, DON'T DO DRUGS.
We couldn't help but notice that besides the whole Skins thing, Rihanna may have gained visual inspiration from a couple of other sources. The fairy light scenes recall Corrine Day's iconic shot of a young Kate Moss...

And the coloured smoke is a lot like Daniel Askill's work for Ksubi Kolors earlier this year...
