Where They Holiday
Vacation inspiration from Terry Richardson, Isabel Marant and more.
We're feeling that holiday itch. In-between seasons there's always a call to get out of town for a few days, wave a ritual farewell to winter and return with a spring buzz. But where-o-where to go? We've collated some jealousy-inducing destination inspiration from the industry elite.
Terry Richardson - The seaside Mayan ruins at Tulum, Mexico.
Flicking through the posts on Terry's Diary this week filled us with a sinking feeling akin to when a holidaying friend peppers your News Feed with incessant status updates like 'Fell asleep on the beach after building sandcastles at sunset - heaven.' Puke. Also interesting is TR's companion, rumoured friend-with-benefits Audrey Gelman. Looks like the cat is out of the bag for these two.
Isabel Marant - A cabin on the banks of the Loing River in Fontainebleau, France.
Marant and Dreyfuss spend weekends at their spartan retreat, finding serenity sans running water or electricity. It does have a handy tree fort, and a cosy patio for entertaining their fashion friends who don't mind flushing the toilet with buckets of water from a nearby spring.
Emily Weiss - Parrot Cay, a private island resort.
Vogue styling assistant turned beauty blogger extraordinaire Emily Weiss, has been welcomed to the fold by Donna Karan, Derek Lam and Tommy Ton as a special guest of the private island owned by COMO Hotels and Resorts. The island boasts a mile-long beach, private plunge pools, waterfall showers and several coma-inducing day spas. Beach villas start from US$1,000 per night (bottom of the range) but why do things by halves? The island's most luxurious villa is US$30,000 p/night and they'll throw in the wi-fi for free!
