Wild Nothing is the solo project of Jack Tatum, a Virginia-born youth whose debut album 'Gemini' is making waves amongst music critics - especially the psychedelic ones. Tatum fuses The Cure-esque undertones, washed out vocals and bright beats to create a sound that is simultaneously modern and revivalist. His sound is breezy and layered with fuzz. He fluctuates with ease between synth-ed out strumming and electric beats reminiscent of early New Order which seem made for euphoric, loved-up dance floors. Tatum's lyrics are sugar sweet and pleading, with melodic vocals that play against the lightness of the rhythms. Evoking spaced out days and magnetic nights, Wild Nothing exudes the endless, washed-out youth that everyone wishes they could hold onto forever.
